CHRISTO’S HISTORY
From or family to yours
Our Father, Christo, arrived in America with only a bag full of clothes. At 17, he began working in the restaurant business washing dishes and cleaning tables. One day, he decided that he would eventually own his own restaurant and make a name for himself. Before long, he opened a small breakfast and lunch place in New York with his brother. Soon, the small place grew to become a large 24-hour diner.
Christo married Roula and their 2 sons, Erik and Theo, began pursuing careers in baseball. Erik chose to attend college in Florida and the rest of the family soon followed. Moving to New Port Richey was quite a transition but the family opened a small Mom and Pop place on Little Road in the Trinity area. They named it the G & K Cafe.
The G & K Cafe continued to be a busy little place, run solely by family members. As the years went by, the business grew; and Christo and Roula had an opportunity to expand to a larger location. The cafe moved to the Mitchell Ranch Plaza and for the past 14 years has continued to enjoy the loyalty of many great customers. The name was changed to Christo’s Family Restaurant.
As the Trinity area expanded, Christo’s business grew. It continues to maintain the same high quality that had made them well respected in New Port Richey, Trinity, and surrounding areas. Likewise, the Papapanos family has expanded with sons Erik and Theo taking over the family business. However, Christo and Roula are still there every day. Christo continues to make his famous soups and greet the patrons who have followed him for over a decade.
We are all grateful for your support. Thank you.
